Smithfield — If you plan to vote on the three upcoming bond issues for public schools, Johnston Community College and countywide recreation projects, then circle May 8 on your calendar.
On Monday, County Commissioners set the referendum date and urged supporters to tell neighbors and friends to "vote thrice."
A bond issue for recreation facilities is just wrong, in my opinion. When we have sufficient revenue to start paying for such things out of a normal budget without borrowing heavily for it, then we can consider dumping more cash into P&R. Until then, stop raping the tax payers for a "good idea". Not every good idea should be done.

You just keep giving me reasons to be glad I don't live in J County,(although parts of Wake are worse in other ways)
